Magnolia completed an amazing backyard transformation for us! Our yard is pretty sloped and was terribly overgrown with buckthorn before. Magnolia graded the yard, added boulder outcropping walls to create flat usable grassy areas, and installed granite steps to connect the various levels. Their team also installed bluestone patios. They also refreshed our existing garden beds in the front and side yard that were overgrown with weeds and did some plantings for us. The end result is absolutely stunning. We are so pleased with how it turned out and it's exactly what I had hoped for. Magnolia does a fantastic job of creating refined yet natural outdoor spaces. We had a fantastic experience working with Magnolia Landscaping. They handled our full backyard design, including all the grading, boulders, and yard drainage to prepare for our Sport Court installation. They also completed our garden landscaping with thoughtful planting of trees, bushes, and ground cover, and the results are beautiful.
Tom and Katie are true experts. They really listen to your ideas and then bring them to life with creativity. They even added a firepit area in the hill on the side of our Sport Court, which has become one of our favorite spaces.

This is our second time using Magnolia for our landscaping and we couldn't be happier!  They just completed an entire overhaul of our backyard - new patio, sport court, garden area, level play area, boulder steps/outcroppings, trees/plantings, landscape lighting and more!  It was a complicated project with a lot of moving parts but they did a great job coordinating with the other various contractors for tree removal, irrigation, electrical, deck work, etc. Tom and Katie were great thought partners throughout the process - they always had great recommendations and creative solutions when challenges came up. Alberto and the whole crew were incredible - you can tell they really cared about the quality of the work.  We were choosing between Magnolia and another top landscaping company but ultimately chose Magnolia for their outstanding designs and fair/transparent pricing - and we are so glad we did! Magnolia Landscape provided creative design suggestions and worked diligently to complete our patio/garden revamp before the Minnesota weather turned cold. We love the results and look forward to enjoying the space in 2026.  I enjoyed working with Tom and Katie, who incorporated my garden transplants into the new design. Magnolia once again exceeded all expectations in terms of professionalism, communication, design, budget/cost, and ultimately a finished project that was perfect!
Tom & Katie are so great to work with regarding the planning, changes, staying within budget, and truly aligning to our goals.  Their expertise is outstanding, so they are able to offer advice, both in plantings and hardscaping of patios, fire pits, boulders, etc.
They turned our backyard into a "park" with a gorgeous, high quality fire pit, cool "dry creeks" to channel water and break up the large mulch area, and a sand area that made our grandkids say WOW!
They also take into account drainage and even incorporated our existing drain tiles that were not working well.  Basically, they are experts at EVERY aspect of landscaping and hardscaping.
Take a look at the pictures and you will see the intricate detail of the pavers cut to align with the boulders.  Even the boulders themselves were specifically selected to allow extra seating around the fire pit, memorial garden area, and sand area.  We didn't even ask for that, but they made it so cool by going the extra mile for us.
Tom & Katie were in constant communication with us and their work team.  The team was hard working, meticulous, and so nice. In terms of cost, integrity, professionalism, and finished product, you will not find a better company.
We had them install a fire pit at our last house and it still looked like it was brand new years later when we sold the house.  It clearly helped increase the value and appeal of our home when it was time to sell.  We have referred Magnolia to our friends and now our grown children with their new homes. Tom and Katie did a wonderful job. They listened to my ideas and concerns. They offered their expertise and shaped a beautiful garden which spans our across our front yard. All summer we had cars slowing down  to admire the garden or walkers commenting on how beautiful it looks. Initially we approached them simply for design advice and it quickly became clear that they could offer us a complete start to finish experience to achieve our landscape redesign goals. Their communication, professionalism, and work ethic has far exceeded my expectations and we will absolutely recommend their business to anyone with landscape questions or concerns. You will not regret hiring this team!
Project 1: replace sunken concrete walkway with paver walkway and re route french drain to mitigate winter draining and icing issues. Add three garden berms with bullet edging to add dimension to an otherwise flat front landscape.
