Magnolia Landscape & Design transformed our backyard into an up north retreat that is in the middle of the city. Thomas has a true passion for landscaping and understood our needs right from the start. He was genuinely excited about our project and blew us away with his plan. From start to finish, the team was professional, efficient, and incredibly attentive to detail. Katie gave great design ideas and the plant advice was top notch. Jerrod was our project manager and is a boulder whisperer. Jerrod had excellent communication during the project and turned our sloped backyard into an entertainers dream with a huge fire pit and flat areas for kids to play. They even repurposed the stone from an old failing retaining wall into the cutest front yard patio. Magnolia exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for landscaping services.

Magnolia recently helped us with a 3 part home project: Erosion remediation/control, fixing a settled/uneven paver patio, and designing/installing an attractive and practical landscaping solution for our backyard, which abuts a busy street. We were really pleased with the final results of each project, and working with the entire Magnolia team was a pleasure- we have worked with a few other local landscaping companies, but Magnolia is by far the top of my list for who has been the best to work with and provided the best results, at a reasonable price! Katie was amazing with her design help, and we're really pleased especially with the look of our backyard design- it looks natural, interesting, and really inviting and beautiful. As with any project, there were challenges encountered, but Thomas (and also the rest of the team) handled all of it in a really professional manner, which was really helpful and made a huge difference for our experience. Romero was also wonderful and so easy to work with, and he really knows his stuff! He also has a really great eye to detail, and with him there, you know things will get done the best and right way! The erosion control is working really well (even with a few heavy down pours since completion), which is a huge relief since we hired other landscapers in the past to try to fix this, without success- but finally, Magnolia was able to help us! Our paver patio is also so much better, and finally there isn't accumulated water/dirt on it because of uneven grading, and our new backyard design is so beautiful! Now every time we look outside and see it, it makes us smile, and makes our home feel even more inviting and peaceful- we didn't realize before what we were missing! Thank you Magnolia!!

We could not have been happier with our decision to use Magnolia. They helped us design our backyard patio, fireplace and grill area, then their crews did an awesome job constructing it. They also excavation and tile work to address a commonly saturated area. They worked with us to get the patio we wanted at a price that was more than fair. We look forward to having them back to do additional landscaping projects around our house.

We started our process with Magnolia back in February and completed our project by the end of July. They were easy to reach out to and got an initial meeting scheduled super quick. We provided a general idea of what we were looking for and a rough idea of our budget to complete the scope of work. The design, plan, and cost were so much better than we were anticipating. First, cost. Other bids for the same level of work were around 30% higher than what Magnolia bid. We worked with Tyler and in the bid he had backyard plans and a design that were to scale and showed a true plan of what work would be completed. The plan was very detailed and we were able to see a vision and make adjustments on just the plan. Magnolia created a sunken firepit with a boulder retaining wall above and below the firepit area, landscaped trees and plants to flow with the paver patio area and stone steps leading down into the sunken firepit area. Tyler even had a beautiful stone slab added as a step over the edging that matched it which we did not expect at all. We had some drainage issues with our yard and they regraded the entire backyard to allow water to flow around the sunken firepit and installed a french drain to move excess water out of the yard. They also connected 2 downspouts to the drain to allow our yard to drain perfectly from excess rain coming off of our roof. Finally, they installed a river rock bed along the back of our property with stone edging to create a break between a marsh area full of weeds to reduce the creep of thistle into our yard. We had to call out a few errors that were made along the way but Magnolia worked to make it right as fast as they could. Some drainage issues with the firepit and yard were corrected in a timely manner and there was no push back whatsoever once we raised our concerns. They absolutely worked to make it right and ensure that everything was done properly. We have more landscaping work planned in the future and are absolutely planning to go with their services again as we were happy with the price, quality of work, and timeline given to complete the work. Thanks to Tyler and Rolando for designing and completing our project!

Magnolia once again exceeded all expectations in terms of professionalism, communication, design, budget/cost, and ultimately a finished project that was perfect!
Tom & Katie are so great to work with regarding the planning, changes, staying within budget, and truly aligning to our goals. Their expertise is outstanding, so they are able to offer advice, both in plantings and hardscaping of patios, fire pits, boulders, etc.
They turned our backyard into a "park" with a gorgeous, high quality fire pit, cool "dry creeks" to channel water and break up the large mulch area, and a sand area that made our grandkids say WOW!
They also take into account drainage and even incorporated our existing drain tiles that were not working well. Basically, they are experts at EVERY aspect of landscaping and hardscaping.
Take a look at the pictures and you will see the intricate detail of the pavers cut to align with the boulders. Even the boulders themselves were specifically selected to allow extra seating around the fire pit, memorial garden area, and sand area. We didn't even ask for that, but they made it so cool by going the extra mile for us.
Tom & Katie were in constant communication with us and their work team. The team was hard working, meticulous, and so nice. In terms of cost, integrity, professionalism, and finished product, you will not find a better company.
We had them install a fire pit at our last house and it still looked like it was brand new years later when we sold the house. It clearly helped increase the value and appeal of our home when it was time to sell. We have referred Magnolia to our friends and now our grown children with their new homes. They truly are amazing people and do exceptional work!

I had the pleasure of working with Magnolia in the summer of 2024 for a backyard patio and fire pit area, and I couldn't be happier with the results! Tom and Katie were fantastic to work with—true professionals who brought my vision to life.

Tom kept me informed every step of the way, providing clear updates on the timeline and process, which I really appreciated. His communication was just as impressive as the craftsmanship. Katie did an excellent job selecting the perfect plants and truly listened to my ideas, making sure every detail fit seamlessly into the design.

The final result? A stunning outdoor oasis that exceeded my expectations. If you're considering a landscaping project, I highly recommend connecting with Tom and the Magnolia team!.

We had Magnolia completely transform our yard into a beautiful and usable space. Phase one of the project included a new patio and separate hot tub area wrapped in natural boulders. The project also included new paths at each end of the house to better reach the backyard. The spaces blend seamlessly together protecting the natural feel we were looking for.

Tom and Katie were great to work with and so very patient as we went through the design and materials selection process. Their ideas seemed endless as we navigated dozens of choices. Throughout the process, their input was invaluable, even covering areas of the project not overseen by them directly (i.e. a new deck and fence). The stars of the show were the crew who are at the top of their trade. It was amazing to see all of this completed in a matter of days with an impeccable attention to detail. We're looking forward to having them back to complete phase two. We can't recommend Magnolia enough!

Amazing. Simply amazing. The before and after pictures (attached) can do the talking.

Magnolia is a great resource for your landscape projects! Tom and Katie did a fantastic job on two different projects for us! The design and execution were great and both projects finished on budget.

Our first project (2 years ago) was a front yard refresh which included a bluestone patio, plantings, and new edging. This completely transformed our front yard and has held up extremely well!

Then, we did our backyard (in the last year) - we did an entire re-do of our backyard. We had a large boulder wall that was failing and it was limiting the functionality of our yard. Tom and Katie masterfully thought through a different approach to our yard -- an outcropping vs. a straight wall. The result is simply amazing. They creatively put in boulder steps that lead to a playhouse for our kids - and leads right to a slide that is incorporated into the wall. Further, they installed beautiful edging. Last, they re-did our entire patio which has been a huge addition to our living space!

More recently (in the last few months) we did a little bit more in the backyard as our budget allowed for us to add some wish list items that Katie had originally suggested.

All of our Magnolia projects have maintained extremely well - and Magnolia has been VERY responsive to any questions or concerns that we have. They truly stand behind their work. It feels like they are equally as interested as we are in ensuring the longevity of the projects!

Katie and the Magnolia team put together a beautiful design for a fully-built paver patio system and natural landscaping for our yard. Due to constraints with our property lines and HOA, we had a challenging footprint to work with, and we had to recreate our design more than once. The end result is wonderful, and would work with them again.

We worked with Magnolia on a very complicated project of replacing a massive failing timber retaining wall (original to our home built in the 70s) with a more natural landscape of boulder outcroppings that now blend into the natural beauty of our hilly landscape.

From the get-go, I appreciated that Tom and Katie were creative and thoughtful in their approach and were willing to listen to my vision, which was something i didn’t get from other contractors who quoted the project.

Our project was delayed due to a seriously rainy spring, but as soon as Magnolia started the project, they were committed to its completion and worked with me every step of the way. We are Jared super-fans, he was our boulder magician and spent nearly a month placing every boulder with his excavator like a massive jigsaw puzzle. He was incredibly thoughtful and helped us build a gorgeous fire pit area in the backyard. Happy and his team came in afterwards and did a great job completing the paver patio and plantings.

We hope to work with Magnolia again in the future! Thank you to everyone on the team for transforming our property into a yard that our kids now are able to play in, I can’t understate the positive imapact you have made on our home.
