Magnolia Landscape & Design transformed our backyard into an up north retreat that is in the middle of the city. Thomas has a true passion for landscaping and understood our needs right from the start. He was genuinely excited about our project and blew us away with his plan. From start to finish, the team was professional, efficient, and incredibly attentive to detail. Katie gave great design ideas and the plant advice was top notch. Jerrod was our project manager and is a boulder whisperer. Jerrod had excellent communication during the project and turned our sloped backyard into an entertainers dream with a huge fire pit and flat areas for kids to play. They even repurposed the stone from an old failing retaining wall into the cutest front yard patio. Magnolia exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for landscaping services.
Michelle Baraga213 days agoWe had a fantastic experience working with Magnolia Landscaping. They handled our full backyard design, including all the grading, boulders, and yard drainage to prepare for our Sport Court installation. They also completed our garden landscaping with thoughtful planting of trees, bushes, and ground cover, and the results are beautiful. Tom and Katie are true experts. They really listen to your ideas and then bring them to life with creativity. They even added a firepit area in the hill on the side of our Sport Court, which has become one of our favorite spaces. We are extremely happy with how the final product turned out and would absolutely recommend Magnolia for any landscaping project. We will definitely work with them again!
Sara Biebl259 days agoWe had a wonderful experience working with Tyler and his crew at Magnolia Landscape and Design! We called several companies for bids for a large project (complete regrading of yard, drain tile, burying the sump pump, stone patio, boulder wall, and stone patio/fire pit); and from the first time we met with Tyler, we knew that Magnolia was different than the other companies we had contacted. He took a lot of time listening to us and making sure he understood what we wanted. Our main goal was to address a water mitigation issue, and Tyler was extremely thoughtful on how to address the problems with water in our yard. The design that he created was exceptional and the attention to detail was unparalleled. He created drafts of a plan and communicated with us frequently as the project was being completed. The craftsmanship and talent that was exhibited by his crew was also amazing. We are very happy with the final product and would recommend Magnolia to anyone looking for a great landscaping experience.
Charley Holden307 days agoMagnolia did a great job on our landscaping project. Katie and Thomas were great to work with during every step of the project - which went very smoothy. They installed new sod our backyard after re-grading the soil, installed some stone steps which turned out great, and had very helpful advice for new plantings. I would highly recommend them!
Zach Hannah439 days agoWe started our process with Magnolia back in February and completed our project by the end of July. They were easy to reach out to and got an initial meeting scheduled super quick. We provided a general idea of what we were looking for and a rough idea of our budget to complete the scope of work. The design, plan, and cost were so much better than we were anticipating. First, cost. Other bids for the same level of work were around 30% higher than what Magnolia bid. We worked with Tyler and in the bid he had backyard plans and a design that were to scale and showed a true plan of what work would be completed. The plan was very detailed and we were able to see a vision and make adjustments on just the plan. Magnolia created a sunken firepit with a boulder retaining wall above and below the firepit area, landscaped trees and plants to flow with the paver patio area and stone steps leading down into the sunken firepit area. Tyler even had a beautiful stone slab added as a step over the edging that matched it which we did not expect at all. We had some drainage issues with our yard and they regraded the entire backyard to allow water to flow around the sunken firepit and installed a french drain to move excess water out of the yard. They also connected 2 downspouts to the drain to allow our yard to drain perfectly from excess rain coming off of our roof. Finally, they installed a river rock bed along the back of our property with stone edging to create a break between a marsh area full of weeds to reduce the creep of thistle into our yard. We had to call out a few errors that were made along the way but Magnolia worked to make it right as fast as they could. Some drainage issues with the firepit and yard were corrected in a timely manner and there was no push back whatsoever once we raised our concerns. They absolutely worked to make it right and ensure that everything was done properly. We have more landscaping work planned in the future and are absolutely planning to go with their services again as we were happy with the price, quality of work, and timeline given to complete the work. Thanks to Tyler and Rolando for designing and completing our project!
Steve Vakulskas466 days agoMagnolia once again exceeded all expectations in terms of professionalism, communication, design, budget/cost, and ultimately a finished project that was perfect! Tom & Katie are so great to work with regarding the planning, changes, staying within budget, and truly aligning to our goals. Their expertise is outstanding, so they are able to offer advice, both in plantings and hardscaping of patios, fire pits, boulders, etc. They turned our backyard into a "park" with a gorgeous, high quality fire pit, cool "dry creeks" to channel water and break up the large mulch area, and a sand area that made our grandkids say WOW! They also take into account drainage and even incorporated our existing drain tiles that were not working well. Basically, they are experts at EVERY aspect of landscaping and hardscaping. Take a look at the pictures and you will see the intricate detail of the pavers cut to align with the boulders. Even the boulders themselves were specifically selected to allow extra seating around the fire pit, memorial garden area, and sand area. We didn't even ask for that, but they made it so cool by going the extra mile for us. Tom & Katie were in constant communication with us and their work team. The team was hard working, meticulous, and so nice. In terms of cost, integrity, professionalism, and finished product, you will not find a better company. We had them install a fire pit at our last house and it still looked like it was brand new years later when we sold the house. It clearly helped increase the value and appeal of our home when it was time to sell. We have referred Magnolia to our friends and now our grown children with their new homes. They truly are amazing people and do exceptional work!+5
Jerry Hillius679 days agoDue to the various positive reviews from our neighbors throughout Chevalle in Chaska, we hired Magnolia Landscaping and Design. Our goal was a large project to upgrade our front and back yard. We had drainage and runoff issues with a back hill that wouldn't grow grass. Tom came out and assessed the property. I offered a variety of web pictures I liked. I was very interested to receive a landscape planogram from Katie, since I don't have the knowledge of plants needed. The bid and design were easy to understand. They had no problems repurposing the plants and trees we wanted to save. Considering this was a big project, they were able to complete it in 4 days with a very diligent crew. We were extremely happy with the results, and it was a pleasure working with Tom and Katie. We are anxious for the plants to grow, which may take a couple of years. Magnolia isn't just a landscaping company, but they also DESIGN your property after getting your thoughts and input.+2
Quynn Iske830 days agoWe hired Magnolia to take out our wood deck and replace it with a stone patio. All of our interactions with their team have been positive. Everyone has been incredibly nice to work with. With the patio they were great at working with us to fit our budget and still have a beautiful finished product. We were so impressed by their work, we hired them the next year for a landscaping project in our backyard. With a large hill we were having issues with runoff and weeds coming in under our fence. Again everyone was wonderful to work with and the full project was done in just a few days (much quicker than I expected). Definitely recommend!+2
Dan Lonnes837 days agoMagnolia was excellent both in quality of the work and reliability of their services. We needed a landscape project completed before a large gathering we had planned and they followed through on their commitment to complete before our event despite weeks of rain limiting work days in the Spring. They helped us create a functional and impressive design for our landscape and drainage needs, and the crew executed wonderfully with attention to detail and consideration of our property when working. We would highly recommend their services.
Justin Montbriand1265 days agoHighly recommend! Magnolia did a patio, berms, stone staircase, and plantings around our house. They were great to work with from initial design to finish.
