The Edina, Minnesota project aimed to create a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living spaces for year-round family entertainment. Despite limited backyard access and cold weather conditions, the design incorporated materials that matched the existing architecture and ensured durability. A unique natural gas fire feature was added for warmth and entertainment, with a design that accommodates pond hockey gatherings in the winter. The project also preserved a backyard tree and adjacent water body while including fieldstone boulder walls for a future trampoline play area. Featuring stone masonry and a bluestone patio, this project is a perfect example of outdoor space extension.
