Pond Hockey, Fire Pit and Outdoor Grill Fit this Edina Home Perfectly

This summer has been packed and we’re having a great time working on projects with wonderful clients, like this backyard patio and fire pit we did at a newly constructed home in Edina.

Our clients wanted the landscape and patio area to fit seamlessly with the design of the home… as if it had been there all along. And, they wanted us to create a space that would enhance the viewpoints from inside of the house, too.

To accomplish this, we repeated the same types of stone we used for the front walkway on the back patio as well. When we created the seating walls in back, we used the same veneer stone from the walls on the exterior of the home.

A beautiful backyard pond is stunning in the summer, and it gets a lot of use during our long, snowy Minnesota winters, too. Our client’s son and neighborhood friends use it for hockey practice, so the gas fire pit was designed to be useable from both the house and the pond sides. Winter days won’t seem so bad with a cozy fire, a cup of cocoa and cooking on the built-in grill!
