Early Glow™ Buckeye's yellow-green flowers contrast nicely with the newly expanded bright green leaves in the spring. Leaves turn bright red in the fall before many other trees. The beautiful flower clusters are a treat to hummingbirds and the seeds are a useful food source for squirrels, although Early Glow™ Buckeye produces very few nuts.
Early Glow Buckeye™ does best in slightly acidic, moist, well-drained soil but can tolerate other soils if given enough water early on. However, Early Glow Buckeye™ does not tolerate heavy soil salt, so would not do well in areas where winter salts do not flush from soil in spring.
